Rodrigo Sperafico holds pole position and wins in Tarumã

The Nextel Cup race started with little trouble in Tarumã, and pole position Rodrigo Sperafico of Genéricos Biosintética Stock Car (Volkswagen) held the race leadership with little pressure until the end of the race.

Valdeno Brito of Neo Química-Neosoro/ JF Racing (Peugeot) followed in second, followed by Cacá Bueno of Eurofarma RC (Mitsubishi).

In the first laps Guto Negrão of Vivanz 307 Racing (Peugeot) bumped Juliano Moro of Nascar (Mitsubishi), who spun off track. Negrão was penalized with an obligatory drive through the pit boxes.

Ingo Hoffmann of AMG Motorsport (Mitsubishi) started in the back in 30th place, but ran an extremely efficient race and finished in position 13. Marcos Gomes and Ricardo Maurício of Medley/ A. Mattheis (Chevrolet) started in the last two positions of the grid, but also raced to win positions and finished in 17th and 16th respectively.

Tyres were a problem for most drivers on the tough circuit of Tarumã, which means the drivers did not risk much on track. Diogo Pachenki of PowerTech (Chevrolet), William Starostik of RCM Motorsport (Mitsubishi) and Ruben Fontes of Katálogo Racing (Mitsubishi) all abandoned due to tyre problems.

Rodrigo Sperafico lead from end to end, whilst Valdeno Brito was forced to abandon the race due to mechanical problems. Cacá Bueno took over second place and had little trouble holding back Duda Pamplona of Officer Pamplona’s Motorsport (Mitsubishi).

The race in Tarumã ended with Rodrigo Sperafico in first, Cacá Bueno in second and Duda Pamplona in third. With this result, Cacá further increased his lead in the Nextel Cup championship, and now has 272 points.
