Pizzonia’s disqualification in Buenos Aires
Only two laps away from the end of the 9th Nextel Cup Stock Car race in Buenos Aires, Antonio Pizzonia, Win Motorsport (Volkswagen), was disqualified.
The sporting commissioners at CBA (Confederação Brasileira de Automobilismo) excluded Pizzonia due to an anti-sportsmanship attitude.
Race Director Carlos Montagner explains: āWith 2 laps left to finish the race, on the outside Orchid curve Pizzonia hit the side of Pedro Gomes’ car twice, which led to his disqualification from the race in Buenos Airesā.
The ex-F1 driver’s car can be seen in the photo, which registered the exact moment of his disqualfication.
