Stock Jr.: Lucas Finger wins in Curitiba
This Saturday (8/9) in the outer oval ring in Curitiba, the Stock Jr. race was very competitive and brought about many surprises and even more spins. The competition was fierce as CauĂȘ Carvalho, Thiago Riberi and Rafael NegrĂŁo took turns in taking the lead. Then, once the Safety Car gave an all clear, NegrĂŁo started in first until an accident with CauĂȘ took him out of the race. The championship leader Carvalho was penalized for this, so his points in this race will not count in his overall score.
Lucas Finger finished in first, followed by Eduardo Leite and Thiago Riberi. Renato Rattes was first in the Master category (for drivers over 30 years of age), and fourth in the overall Stock Jr. category. Finger’s driving was calm and constant, which guaranteed his win in the midst of a series of accidents and exciting overtakes, most within seconds of each other.
The driver was taken by surprise with this victory. âI wasn’t expecting a win, but I knew I could get to the podiumâ. The number 12 driver is now optimistic about his performance in the next races. âThis is when our competition beginsâ.
