Stock Car Champs: how does a driver win?

A different set of rules and regulations are used to determine the winner in each of the 3 Stock Car categories.

Nextel Cup: 10 drivers with the highest number of accumulated points at the end of the 8th season are qualified for the playoffs. 200 points are added to the drivers’, as well as an equivalent number of points to their position within the top 10. This means that even though other drivers are allowed to continue racing, only the top 10 can compete for the title. The driver with the highest number of points at the end of the season wins the Cup.

Stock Car Light: The driver that accumulates most points throughout the 10 rounds in the season is named champion. Each driver’s two worst results in the season do not count in the overall score.

Stock Jr.: Both in the overall and Master category, the driver with the highest number of points at the end of the season wins.

Tie-break criteria is the same for all three categories: number of wins, number of second places, and so on and so forth.

The 8th Stock Car round will be held in Brasília, on the 23rd of September.
